Students of classes III to V of Abhimanyu House presented an assembly on 'Onam'
August 28, 2024
Life becomes a festival when gaiety and culture come together. The talented students of classes III to V of Abhimanyu House at SPSRN took us back to our rich Indian mythology where prosperity, joy and love combined. This famous story of Onam was displayed through a wonderful skit by the Blue House students. Onam is an ancient and most well-known Hindu festival of Kerala, which celebrates the rice harvest. In Kerala, Onam is a long festival that lasts all year and is honoured as a holiday to honour King Mahabali. Onam commemorates the annual homecoming of the King Mahabali. He was defeated by Vishnu as in Vaaman's avatar and banished to Pataal Lok. Onam is also an occasion to remind us of the significance of certain values like sharing, protecting nature, humility and surrendering ourselves to the almighty.
