Only those who have learned the power of sincere and selfless contribution experience life's deepest joy: true fulfillment. Selfless service makes you Divine.
It is truly said "The best way to find yourself is to lose yourself in the service of others".
Selfless service alone gives the needed strength and courage to awaken the sleeping humanity in one's heart. This is why in our ancient scriptures it is mentioned that Seva is the process of becoming like them, The Divine, The Almighty.
A simple definition of Seva is, if our words and action exhibit the infinite strength of Satvik Sukh, seva is happening. The best example to learn seva is from Nature.
Nature continuously, incessantly, unconditionally keeps providing everything for everyone without any prejudice, bias or expectation of any kind. The Sun shines for life to continue, The Oceans provide us with clouds that bring us lifesaving rain, The Wind supports pollination for the vegetation to foster, The Fire brings warmth that kindles fertility, this Divine entity called Nature is in a continuous, unconditional giving mode.
The Pandemic has shown us how people from all walks of life came forward to help and serve others. We are all here to inspire each other and to inspire our own mind. Inspiration opens up our heart and we find that we naturally choose to do things for the benefits of others.
Let us drop our resistance, release our diminutiveness and with a devotional mind get ready to be useful to the creation and become the instrument of the Divine - for the betterment of our society, of our nation or the world as a whole.
Let us courageously take up this higher responsibility and inspire others to walk on the Path of righteousness, of correctness, of Dharma. God's love is for us and our love for others is the greatest motivating force in the world. This love and the good it creates will always triumph over hatred and evil.
Do good to others, it will come back in unexpected ways, because Seva is wisdom in action!
