A class assembly was conducted on 4.8.23 by IV D on the topic National Handloom Day. The Union Government had declared 7th of August as the National Handloom Day in July, 2015. It is celebrated by 28 Weavers’ Service Centres in different States and 16 National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT) Campuses , under the guidance of the Ministry of Textiles. It is organised in India to raise public awareness about the handloom sector and its significance to the nation's socio-economic development. Students learnt that by supporting local weavers our ancient culture and rich heritage can be preserved. The assembly ended with an exquisite exhibition of handwoven products.
